Secretary General of European Center SN7, Mr. Fatos Veliu participates on the debate regarding the Law on Associations and Foundations

Secretary General of the European Center SN7 Mr. Fatos Veliu, on 23 February 2011, took part in open debate on the Law on Associations and Foundations, which was held at the Cultural Center - Tetovo. The debate was organized by the Foundation for Local Community Development - Stip, in cooperation with the Center for Community Development - Debar (CCDD) within the project "open dialogue about the law on associations and foundations" financed by the European Union - EU.

In this case, Mr. Fatos Veliu, in his speech before the participants examined in detail the positive and negative sides of this law, by noting that NGO’s, to be successful in their work must necessarily meet the legal obligations arising from Law on Associations and Foundations. Also, Mr. Veliu, stated that this law must undergo into some changes and amendments, as a result to be more accessible to initiators that want to establish NGO’s or foundations.

This law was promulgated in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia on 16.04.2010 and in a timely manner all NGO’s have to re-register in the Central Registry of Republic of Macedonia, regarding the new Law on Associations and Foundations, without additional fees.
